Elon Musk bought Twitter. The world of liberals went crazy, because although they were not quite willing to admit out loud that social media was censoring/suppressing conservatives, the thought that social media was no longer going to censor/suppress conservatives was unacceptable to them.
And then a set of journalists, selected by Musk, started publishing what Twitter internal communications revealed about exactly how and how much Twitter had been suppressing and censoring conservatives. They revealed how employees at Twitter conspired to suppress stories unfavorable to Democrats. They revealed how employees at Twitter had conspired to deplatform the President of the United States.
All this was bad enough. The response of mainstream media outlets was to ignore the story, sticking their fingers in their ears and shouting “I can’t hear you” over and over. They pretty much had to do this, because it was becoming increasingly obvious that ALL of them had been doing this for years.
But then the story grew to include how the FBI, knowing full well that the Hunter Biden laptop story was entirely legitimate, conspired to get the story suppressed by claiming it was Russian disinformation. Indeed, knowing the Hunter Biden Laptop story would eventually come out, they prepared the ground in advance by telling the media and social media companies that a Big Russian Disinformation Story was about to drop.
The FBI, with Twitter cooperating, was seeking information on people who tweeted things that FBI didn’t like. The FBI had former (and perhaps covertly current) employees embedded within Twitter to aid in this effort.
There was a time when I thought the government was perhaps incompetent but not hopelessly corrupt. There was a time when I thought that elections in the US were perhaps not perfect but were close enough that we could consider them generally fair.
There was a time when I thought the media were definitely incompetent but not utterly corrupt and in collusion with evil people.
That time has come to an end. The truth has been found to be lies. The only reason that all the joy within me has not died is that I already have somebody to love.
